Antoine Semenyo has won the fan vote to be named Premier League Player of the Month for February.
The Ghana international hit the ground running in his first full month at City, scoring three times and providing one assist in five games in February.
“This is a brilliant moment for me. To win the Premier League Player of the Month award so soon after joining City is something I’ll never forget,” be said.
“It’s been such an amazing start to life at this club. I am learning so much every day and I honestly feel I am already a better player.
“I have been made to feel welcome from day one, which means I have been able to stay focused on the pitch and do my best.
“My focus now is on continuing to improve and helping City to achieve the best possible results. We have so much to play for and I am really excited about this final period of the season.”
The first of his strikes in February was a clinical left-footed finish in the 2-2 at Spurs before an instinctive finish and slide-rule pass assist in the 3-0 win over Fulham.
That was topped off with a real poacher’s effort for the only goal in a crucial win at Leeds at the very end of the month.
All of that has contributed to strong run of form for City, going unbeaten in our last seven matches in the top-flight.
In total, he now has 15 goals in the Premier League this season - with only Haaland (22) and Brentford’s Igor Thiago (18) more prolific.
Semenyo becomes the second City player to claim this prize this season, after Erling Haaland in September.
To win the award, he had to overcome competition from Viktor Gyokeres, Dango Ouattara, Benjamin Sesko, Virgil van Dijk and team-mate Nico O’Reilly.
O’Reilly himself was crowned Etihad Player of the Month by City fans last week.
Congratulations to Antoine on his award!
