Another key Green-White continues his journey at Werder. Midfielder Senne Lynen and Werder Bremen have agreed extend his current contract. Peter Niemeyer, head of professional football at SVW, announced the extension on Friday afternoon.
“Senne has a strong connection with Werder and identifies with the path that we have taken here. He’s said as much himself and that’s why we’re over the moon that he’s extended his contract with us. Senne hasn’t just developed into a key player for us on the pitch over the past couple of years but has also assumed an important role in the dressing room,” said Niemeyer. Head coach Horst Steffen also expressed his happiness with the 26-year-old’s decision. “I’ve gotten to know Senne, who has shown himself to be a fantastic person in the first few days here, as an intelligent footballer who is good on the ball and who can add important impetus into our play from defensive midfield. As a result, I’m looking forward to continuing to work with him.” Senne Lynen, who moved to Werder from Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023, is optimistic for his future with the Green-Whites. “I feel at home in Bremen, both with my family in the city as well as here at the club. We’ve improved a lot as a team over the past two years, and I really want to continue to progress with the club. That’s why I’ve decided to extend my contract here ahead of schedule.”In his two seasons at Bremen, the former Belgium youth international has played in 64 Bundesliga matches and four DFB-Pokal games for the Green-Whites
