Serial record-breaker Erling Haaland has achieved yet another incredible milestone by scoring in 10 successive games for club and country -the longest streak in his career to date.
The Norwegian extended his run to double figures on Saturday evening, scoring after 27 minutes in the World Cup qualifier against Israel, added a second on 63 and then completed his hat-trick on 72.
Haaland has made a blistering start to the 2025/26 campaign and was recently named the Premier League Player of the Month for September with his first strike in our Manchester derby win over United voted Goal of the Month by City fans.
The Norwegian’s scoring sequence began at the end of August where he netted in our 2-1 defeat at Brighton.
He then bagged the only goal in Norway’s 1-0 win over Finland before grabbing five goals in his nation’s 11-1 triumph over Moldova, followed by a brace against Manchester United, another in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal as well as two late strikes against Burnley, another away to Monaco and it was Haaland’s early goal away to Brentford that secured the Blues a 1-0 win at the Gtech Stadium last weekend.
Despite missing a penalty - and the subsequent retake on six minutes - his latest goals put Norway 2-0 up against Israel, added a second on 63 and completed his hat-trick on 72.
Prior to his current run, Haaland’s best return in front of goal saw him score in eight consecutive games, which he has managed twice.
In reaching 10 games, our No.9 has equalled Lionel Messi’s longest run of consecutive games scored in, which the Argentine managed twice (in 2010 and 2013).
Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo managed 11 consecutive games on the scoresheet in 2014 - and is no doubt now in Haaland's sights.
Erling’s latest treble at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, also means he has now scored a phenomenal 19 goals in his last 10 matches and 21 in 12 matches this season for club and country.
In order, the 10 successive games Haaland has scored in are:
31 August – Brighton 2-1 City (Premier League) – one goal
