Sergio Conceicao expresses interest in Marseille post | OneFootball

Olympique de Marseille find themselves in a familiar position of being in the market for a new manager. Two seasons back, they burned through four in the space of just one season and following the departure of Roberto De Zerbi earlier on Wednesday, the club are looking to swiftly appoint the Italian’s successor. 

A shortlist is already being drawn up by Les Phocéens. As revealed by Foot Mercato, Habib Beye features on that shortlist. The Senegalese manager is himself very recently out of work, having been sacked by Stade Rennais earlier this week. He has previously publicly stated his interest in the OM job. 

But another manager who would be interested in taking over is Sergio Conceicao, according to a report from L’Équipe. The Portuguese manager almost took over back in the summer of 2024, at the time of De Zerbi’s appointment, but he has retained a strong relationship with the club’s hierarchy.

However, the fact that Conceicao is currently employed by a club (Al-Ittihad) could prove to be a stumbling block, L’Équipe understands.
