Sergio Gómez will not be in the squad for Celta at Anoeta after falling ill with a gastrointestinal virus, the club said in a statement.

Aihen will cover left-back and look to get forward.

His absence comes as he had rediscovered the level shown in the middle of Sergio Francisco’s spell. With Aramburu the more defensive full-back, often forming a back three in build-up, Sergio attacked the opposite flank.

For Aihen this is a chance to prove his worth. Used sparingly by Matarazzo, his second-half cameo against Barcelona impressed. Up against a scintillating Lamine Yamal, he limited the Spain international’s impact and offered threat in attack.

With neither Iago Aspas nor Swedberg operating down that side, the Etxauri defender will have to track the runs of Carreira and El Abdellaoui, who missed the chance that gave Sergio Francisco breathing space in Balaídos. His combination with Barrenetxea could shape part of La Real’s attacking threat in this match.
