Bologna sit in 11th place in Serie A ahead of kick-off after two wins, one draw and two defeats at the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign. They come in off the back of a 1-1 draw with SC Freiburg in the Europa League on Thursday night, and drew 2-2 away against Lecce last time out in Serie A.

Pisa are one of four Serie A sides who have not yet tasted victory in the league this season after five matches. They are coming in off the back of a 0-0 draw with Fiorentina last weekend, which came after three back-to-back defeats against Napoli, Udinese and Roma.

Vincenzo Italiano has made a handful of changes to his Bologna side following their 2-2 draw with Lecce last time out in Serie A: Nadim Zortea replaces Emil Holm at full-back, Remo Freuler is in for Lewis Ferguson in midfield, Jens Odgaard starts over Giovanni Fabbian, and recently-called-up Italy international Nicolo Cmabiaghi starts instead of Jonathan Rowe.

Alberto Gilardino has made just one change to his Pisa side, bringing in Isak Vural to start over Rossoblu loanee Michel Aebischer in midfield.
