After his move to Marseille broke down, Dani Ceballos has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A.
Fiorentina have emerged as one of the potential suitors for the Real Madrid midfielder, who has no future at the Bernabeu.
Despite Jude Bellingham being sidelined, there is not much hope of Ceballos making a breakthrough under new coach Xabi Alonso.
As a result, the Spaniard has been linked with a series of clubs across Europe, including a late move to Fiorentina.
However, it appears reports of Fiorentina being interested in a move for Dani Ceballos were false and the club are not interested in the former Arsenal star.
That is according to Fiorentina’s CEO, Alessandro Ferrari, who has confirmed the same in a recent interview with Sky Sports Italia (h/t Tuttomercatoweb).
“No, we are not interested in Ceballos,” said Ferrari, whose Fiorentina team has recently roped in Tariq Lamptey from Brighton & Hove Albion.

“With Lamptey, we have practically completed the squad. There are still a frenetic 24 hours left, but we are fine. The only changes might be releasing some youngsters who want more playing time,” he added.
This means Fiorentina are not expected to make any more moves in the transfer market unless something drastic happens.
It doesn’t bode well for Ceballos and Real Madrid as it seems the midfielder will end up remaining at Santiago Bernabeu this season.
Keeping that in mind, it is now up to Xabi Alonso to utilise the services of the former Arsenal midfielder, who will be competing with the likes of Bellingham, Arda Guler and even Franco Mastantuono for a place in the starting eleven.
