Antonio Conte has decided to give a rest to Kevin De Bruyne, which means an opportunity for David Neres to impress as Napoli look to draw level with Roma at the top of the Serie A standings when they take on Genoa on Sunday afternoon.

Kick-off is due at 17.00 BST.

Antonio Conte’s side, who had won four Serie A matches in a row at the start of the season, suffered their first slip of the league campaign with a 2-1 defeat against Milan last weekend. The two sides currently sit level on points in the standings ahead of kick-off.

Genoa are without a win in Serie A in 2025-26, having lost three and drawn two at the start of the campaign, leaving them at the foot of the table on two points. They suffered a 3-0 defeat at home against Lazio last weekend.

Napoli are without key defenders in Alessandro Buongiorno, Amir Rrahmani plus full-back Pasquale Mazzocchi, as well as centre-forward Romelu Lukaku.

Genoa do not have Junior Messias, Maxwel Cornet or Nicolae Stanciu at their disposal against the Partenopei.

Kevin De Bruyne is given a rest by Conte, who has instead brought in winger David Neres. That means a likely siwtch to a 4-3-3, with Scott McTominay playing in a slightly more central role. The Scot has been lining up on the left of a 4-1-4-1 at the start of the 2025-26 season.
