Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also understood to be watching him, and there have reportedly been preliminary conversations regarding a future deal.

Benfica want to keep the young full-back. They are said to have reached an understanding with his representatives over a new contract, which could be formalised when he turns 18 on 24 March.

This season Banjaqui, valued at one million euros, has made 23 appearances for Benfica. His outings include 11 in Liga Portugal Meu Super, six in the UEFA Youth League, three in the Liga Revelação, two in Liga Portugal Betclic and one in the Taça de Portugal. Across 1,477 minutes he has one goal and two assists.
