La Liga outfit Sevilla have this week announced a setback on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Tanguy Nianzou could be facing up to an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Defender Nianzou was for his part introduced to proceedings off the bench on Tuesday night, in Sevilla’s league meeting with Villarreal.
En route to an eventual 3-1 defeat, however, the Frenchman pulled up just minutes into his emergence onto the pitch.
And as much, it has since been revealed, came owing to a ‘minor injury to the hamstring in his right thigh’.
Nianzou will be put through a series of medical scans and tests over the days ahead, the results of which will determine his return timetable.
As per Sevilla’s statement on the matter:
‘Tanguy Nianzou, who was scheduled to leave the field of play just minutes after coming on against Villarreal CF yesterday, is suffering from a minor injury to the hamstring in his right thigh. The French player is awaiting further development before returning to the group.’
