Sevilla forward Akor Adams has expressed confidence ahead of his team’s home clash against Barcelona, stating that he has what it takes to find the net against Hansi Flick’s men.
The Nigerian striker opened his account for Sevilla last weekend, scoring the decisive goal in their 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano.
Now, he hopes to build on that performance and continue his scoring form against the Catalan giants.
Despite Sevilla’s struggles at home this season, Adams believes the team can rise to the challenge.
The forward admitted that Barcelona are one of the strongest sides in La Liga but insisted that his side’s focus must remain on their own game plan.
“It’s a very good club, a great team. We will see how they play this season. But, as Matias tells us, the focus is on what we can do and what we practice.

“You can’t control the outcome, but you just have to do your thing and then see what happens in the game.”
Sevilla’s recent home record against Barcelona does little to inspire confidence. Their last home victory over the Blaugrana came in 2015, almost a decade ago.
Since then, Barça have often left the Sanchez Pizjuan with either all three points or at least a draw. Nevertheless, Adams remains optimistic that Sevilla can change that narrative.
When asked if he believes he can score against Barcelona, the striker replied confidently, “I think I have the ability to score in every game if I have the opportunities.”
Adams also spoke about his teammate Alexis Sanchez, who will be facing his former club. The Chilean enjoyed a successful spell with Barcelona, where he became a fan favourite.
Adams praised Sanchez’s professionalism, saying, “I think he’s very professional, and he hasn’t talked much about it.
“For him, it’s always about giving his best for Sevilla. Whether he scores, assists, or helps the team, that will come.”
