Sheffield Wednesday are keen to bolster their squad this January
Sheffield Wednesday are keen on a loan move for Manchester City youngster Jaden Heskey in the current January transfer window.
According to The Star, the Owls are seeking terms similar to the agreement reached with Manchester United for Harry Amass last summer.
The full-back joined at the end of the summer period, with the Premier League side covering the total cost of the move amid the Yorkshire outfit’s financial issues.
Henrik Pedersen’s side has become quite depleted due to injuries in recent weeks, emphasising the importance of bringing in fresh faces before the market shuts on February 2.
While relegation from the Championship is all but guaranteed, the club will still be keen to bolster their options as best they can this month.

Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly keen on a deal for Heskey, who is the son of former Premier League striker Emile.
It’s believed that the 20-year-old is available as a free loan option, meaning the agreement could be similarly structured to Amass’ arrival at Hillsborough last summer.
Man City are understood to be interested in loaning out the midfielder, who has been captaining their under-21's from the middle of the park in the Premier League 2 competition this season, as they want him to gain some first-team experience.
Heskey made his senior debut in Pep Guardiola’s side in the third round of this season’s EFL Cup, coming off the bench in a 2-0 win away to Huddersfield Town.
The youngster has yet to feature again, and has not played a single minute of Premier League football, but he has earned a reputation within Man City as a promising talent.
It’s also been claimed that Sheffield Wednesday are searching for reinforcements in attack, but that any business may have to wait until later in the window to be completed.
The Owls are bottom of the Championship table ahead of their next clash at home to Brentford on 10 January in the third round of the FA Cup.

Heskey hasn’t shown yet what he can do at senior level, but his performances in the underage side at City are encouraging.
Given Sheffield Wednesday need anybody through the door, it’s promising that these links are emerging.
If they can get this deal done, then it will be a great opportunity for Heskey to prove himself at a Championship level, and he will be hoping to emulate the kind of form Amass showed at Hillsborough.
Sheffield Wednesday don’t have a ton of options in the January market, so this is a very promising potential step forward for the club in the short-term.
