Harry Amass is set to link up with the Canaries for the remainder of the season
Norwich City are reportedly closing in on a loan agreement with Manchester United for the services of highly-rated left-back, Harry Amass, who spent the first half of the Championship season with the division's crisis club, Sheffield Wednesday.
That is according to local publication, the Pink'Un, as the England youth international is set for a swift return to the second tier in order to continue his development away from Old Trafford, where he gained brief first-team exposure under former Red Devils boss, Ruben Amorim, in the latter stages of the Portuguese's first half-season in the North West.
The Canaries have enjoyed a strong resurgence up the Championship table in recent weeks, which was emphatically emphasised on Tuesday night in a crucial clash against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.
After emerging victorious in three of their previous four encounters across all competitions, Philippe Clement saw his side make it three successive wins away from Carrow Road with a resounding 5-0 success that included five different goalscorers.
Such an emphatic scoreline saw the Yellows climb out of the Championship relegation zone, and they are now to within a point of Eric Ramsay's side as a result.
One of many standout performers for the East Anglian side in the West Midlands was Ben Chrisene, who was acquired from Aston Villa in the summer of 2024 under former Canaries boss, Johannes Hoff Thorup.
However, with there now just under two weeks until the transfer deadline of 7PM on Monday, February 2nd, the former Club Brugge, AS Monaco and Rangers boss is set to add further depth and quality to his defensive ranks beyond the 22-year-old, with Amass quickly returning to the Championship having emerged as a real bright spark for the Owls, who are now 35 points adrift of safety and still on minus seven points after breaking an unwanted record of 21 games without a win.

As previously mentioned, Amass was one of very few reasons for cheer at Hillsborough during what was, and still remains, a testing period for all associated with the Owls, who remain in administration at present as former professional poker player, James Bord, looks to finalise his takeover.
The 18-year-old would gain his first experience of senior football away from the Red Devils when a loan agreement - initially until the beginning of January - was struck between themselves and Wednesday, albeit it had become well-documented that the Premier League club were paying the entirety of Amass' wages and accommodation fees to help the second tier's crisis club in their hour of need as Dejphon Chansiri's controversial 10-year period as owner came to an end in late October.
Amass was initially just one of two short-term loan additions, with Ethan Horvath also joining from, and subsequently returning to Cardiff City after keeping net during the first of Pierce Charles' injury layoffs.
However, in a young and threadbare squad, Amass received plenty of praise from supporters and general Championship onlookers for his defensive nous and creative ability.
Throughout 21 league appearances under the management of Henrik Pedersen, his first senior goal would come in the 3-1 defeat at Southampton on November 8th, before also providing an assist for Charlie McNeill against Preston North End weeks later.
Despite some rather bizzare comments from Amorim about Amass' performances, it was widely reported that his situation in S6 had put a whole host of Championship clubs on red alert as they looked to strike a loan deal with United for the remainder of the season.
After seeing the defender initially return to Old Trafford, Pedersen revealed that the Owls would attempt to discuss a deadline with Michael Carrick's side for a decision to be made over whether Amass would return to S6.
However, they are set to lose out, with the Pink'Un reporting that the versatile teenager will play out the rest of the season in yellow and green as Norwich look to continue progressing up the table and away from the relegation battle.

After a difficult first half of the season, the atmosphere at Carrow Road is certainly starting to look more positive, and a loan swoop for Amass will only add to that.
The youngster had continuously played with a maturity beyond his years for the Owls, and with Norwich currently boasting a handful of extremely bright talents, such as January recruit, Ali Ahmed and Jovon Makama, Amass could also see working under Clement as the best possible step for his development as he hopes to continue catching the eye of Red Devils staff with a view of eventually becoming a regular first-team player in the Premier League.
