The Star's Joe Crann and Alex Miller have candidly spoken about the situation involving David Storch and his proposed takeover.
The international break has come at a really important time for Sheffield Wednesday off the pitch, with David Storch looking to close out his deal to purchase the football club and take them out of administration after six months of uncertainty.
While the situation on the field has been settled for nearly a month, fans are eagerly awaiting any news on Storch's bid to rescue the Owls, with the American businessman keen to become the new owner of the soon-to-be League One side sooner rather than later.
The group aiming to complete the takeover have created a new company on Companies Houses, and there is a growing belief that after months of false hope and James Bord's failed bid to purchase the South Yorkshire outfit, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Now, there is a fresh update on the timeline of the proposed deal to buy Sheffield Wednesday, and supporters will surely be excited about how far along the process seems to be.
Storch has been given exclusivity by the administrators in S6 for the last two weeks, and after Bord failed to close out his deal throughout the winter, Owls fans will be keen to see a takeover go through quickly, with a full rebuild needed.

Now, The Star's Joe Crann and Alex Miller have issued a fresh update on the current situation at Sheffield Wednesday. On the All Wednesday with Joe Crann podcast, he said: "By all accounts, the talks with the EFL have been positive, the Owners and Directors' Test will be passed. All these little bits, they are, for a fanbase that has found good news so elusive, it's probably good to take the good bits while we can."
Miller added: "I think it'll be a big relief. We spoke last week about how the talk has been excellent and the proof is in the pudding. I think that's a cliché that has been rolled out a million times in the last couple of weeks, but that's the case.
"We're still weeks away from that, and there's still hurdles to overcome, but I think the simplest way to put it is, these encouraging noises were not coming from the Bord group. There were always red flags and bigger hurdles, the sense was, it wouldn't be a smoothly done thing if it was to be completed at all. The opposite is true here."
Storch has been an unassuming and relatively quiet character throughout this whole situation, and while he has spoken openly on a couple of occasions about his desire to complete the deal to take charge of Sheffield Wednesday, his lack of noise shows professionalism.
While Bord's takeover bid stuttered and eventually failed, the US billionaire remained in the conversation, and he is seemingly impressing those at the EFL.

However, this is going to be an incredibly tough few months for the Owls, regardless of whether the takeover goes through or not. Sheffield Wednesday need a major overhaul across the pitch, and with factors in place to limit their spending, this will be tough.
Nevertheless, Storch has the opportunity to be the saviour for the club, and help take the South Yorkshire outfit back to their former glories.
