Sidiki Chérif and Himad Abdelli to miss Angers v Metz as exits loom | OneFootball

Sidiki Chérif and Himad Abdelli will not be included for Angers at Metz on Sunday at 17:15, regardless of late-window developments.

According to L'Équipe, coach Dujeux has omitted Chérif, who has a right ankle knock picked up at Paris FC last Sunday, despite a clear MRI. The forward is in demand from Paris FC, Crystal Palace and Fenerbahçe, while Abdelli is fit, wants to join OM and remains on their radar.

Abdelli, 26, capped eight times by Algeria, will miss a fourth straight league game, after defeats at Le Havre 1-2 on 4 January, when he was at AFCON, and against Marseille 2-5 on 17 January, then the draw at Paris FC.

For Chérif, 19, who has featured in all 19 Ligue 1 matches so far, starting 14 and coming on five times, scoring four goals in 1,164 minutes, this will be a first absence.

It is a difficult spell and the pair, like the wider group, have been unsettled. Selecting anyone short of 100 percent is considered counterproductive, with the focus on those fully available and no attempt to predict what comes next.
