Arsenal’s preparations have been complicated by a growing injury list, with six first-team players now ruled out of international duty during the current break, BBC Sport has reported.
The latest withdrawal concerns Gabriel Magalhaes, who will miss Brazil national football team friendlies against France national football team and Croatia national football team due to a knee issue. Medical assessments confirmed discomfort in his right knee following his full 90-minute appearance in the Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City.
He is joined on the sidelines by defensive partner William Saliba, while Eberechi Eze has withdrawn from the England national football team squad with a calf injury. Further absences include Leandro Trossard, captain Martin Odegaard and defender Jurrien Timber.
While the international break may offer a window for recovery, the concentration of injuries presents a concern for manager Mikel Arteta at a pivotal stage of the season.
Arsenal remain firmly in contention for the Premier League title, but with key fixtures looming in both domestic and European competition, the fitness of their squad could prove decisive in sustaining their challenge.
