Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will no doubt be favourite to win the award with his side currently top of the table, two points clear of Manchester City with just two games remaining. Arteta's side also have the best defensive record having conceded just 26 goals in 36 games so far.

Arteta's former mentor Pep Guardiola is also up for the award with his Manchester City team – the league's current top scorers on 75 goals in total – hoping to overtake the Gunners before the end of the year.

There were worries for Brentford at the start of the season with the departure of Thomas Frank and a number of key players but Keith Andrews has quickly established himself as a more than credible replacement with the Bees in the running for European football.

Another team that are hoping for Europe is sixth-placed Bournemouth who have once again entertained under Andoni Iraola who will be departing the club at the end of the season.

Sunderland may be 12th in the table right now but Régis Le Bris' team were excelling earlier on this season and defied expectations for a newly-promoted side.

Finally, Michael Carrick took over as interim boss of Manchester United back in January and has guided the Red Devils to a Champions League return with games left to spare – a feat that will likely land him the permanent role.

Fans can vote for the award until 12pm on Monday with the winner announced next week.
