Gerry Cardinale was in Italy over the Easter weekend to discuss planning for AC Milan’s 2025-26 season, a report has revealed.

According to Sky, on April 18 (Good Friday, the eve of Milan-Atalanta), Cardinale was in Milan for a programmatic meeting with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Giorgio Furlani, the senior advisor of RedBird and CEO of Milan respectively.

The presence of the owner in the city – even for a few hours – is certainly news, because he had not been seen since Milan vs. Venezia in September, his last public appearance at San Siro (he was instead seen in Madrid, next to Florentino Perez, on the occasion of Real Madrid vs. Milan in November).

According to Sky, the meeting between Cardinale, Ibrahimovic and Furlani was all about planning for the summer. It was a summit that was held a month after the visit of the Milan CEO to New York and two months after the talks in London with the candidates for the position of sporting director.

During that period, Cardinale and Ibrahimovic met Andrea Berta, Fabio Paratici and Igli Tare, with the Albanian sporting director being the only one of those three profiles still in the running for the job.

Cardinale did not go to Milanello during his short trip to Milan. His last appearance at the training ground was on August 26, when he had long conversations with Paulo Fonseca as well as the rest of the management and also with the team.
