Manchester United have reportedly enquired about the availability of Mika Godts, who has established himself as one of the brightest young stars in Europe.
The Red Devils are bracing themselves for what should be an eventful summer transfer campaign. But while the major emphasis is on the midfield revamp, the club could also sign a new left winger.

In a recent press conference, Michael Carrick admitted that the club could do with a new right-footed player who can play as an inverted winger cutting from the left side, as Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo are both left-footed, while Matheus Cunha isn’t perceived as a natural winger.
In recent months, RB Leipzig teenager Yan Diomande emerged as the primary candidate for the role. However, with a £86 million price tag and vast competition from all over Europe, signing the Ivorian will be a challenging task for Man Utd.
Therefore, the Premier League giants are keeping an eye on alternative profiles, and one of them could be Mika Godts.
According to Sky Sport Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri, United have ‘officially’ enquired about the 20-year-old Belgian.
“Manchester United officially made contact with Ajax Amsterdam to explore the potential terms of a deal for Mika Godts,” posted the transfer market expert on his X account.
“Belgian talent will be one of the main attractions in the upcoming market and expected to leave the Dutch club next summer.”
Godts began his playing career in Anderlecht’s academy before joining Genk in 2020. In January 2023, Ajax poached his services for just €1 million.
A year later, the winger was promoted to the first team, and he’s now considered one of the top stars with the Lancers. He has contributed with 14 goals and 11 assists in his 35 appearances across all competitions this season.
Therefore, Ajax are bracing themselves for major profit. Transfermartk estimates the youngster’s value at €25 million, but the Amsterdam giants could request a higher figure for the Leuven native, who landed on Lionel Messi’s Top 10 young talents in the world at the start of the season.
Nevertheless, Godt is still expected to cost significantly less than Diomande, so he definitely represents a solid alternative in case the Reds were priced out of the race for the 19-year-old Ivorian.
