Despite overseeing a considerably lacklustre campaign on all fronts, Rasmus Hojlund isn’t short of transfer interest this summer.
The Manchester United forward has been linked with a premature move away from Old Trafford just two years after his £72 million switch from Atalanta, after which he put pen to paper on a five-year deal, plus the option of an additional season.
Hojlund’s maiden campaign wasn’t a roaring success by any stretch but it also wasn’t a failure. 10 Premier League goals in 30 appearances and five Champions League goals in six matches were a relatively impressive return from the then-21-year-old, so when his performances and contributions regressed last time out, fans began contemplating whether he was the right fit after all.
Across 2024/2025, the Dane recorded six fewer goals than he had managed the season prior whilst notching just four top-flight goals in 32 games. He did score six times in the Europa League but was unable to perform in the blockbuster final against Tottenham Hotspur, with the London club eventually being crowned winners and securing their Champions League spot.

To supporters’ surprise, Hojlund has garnered a lengthy list of suitors, all in the form of Italian teams who are keen to offer him a route back to the league.
The striker spent one year with Atalanta in Serie A before being pursued by United, so he should’ve perhaps been open to the prospect of a loan to reignite the most prolific version of himself away from the limelight that comes with representing United.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, usually of Sky Sports, spoke with Danish outlet Tipsbladet to reveal that ‘all the top clubs’ in Italy are in for Hojlund, with AC Milan recently joining arch-rivals Inter Milan in the chase.
Yet, Hojlund has privately made it clear to INEOS he has no desire to be sold this summer, even if the owners would likely want to cash in while they can and he has options available.
His prospective transfer to Inter is now on ‘standby’, as per Fabrizio Romano, meaning Ruben Amorim will start 2025/2026 with the player at his disposal – and he’s got a lot to prove between now and next summer.
