Aston Villa are reportedly keen to sign Fulham’s Harry Wilson, with Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett revealing the Villans’ interest in the Welsh international. Villa’s impressive season, which has seen them climb to fifth place in the Premier League, places them on the cusp of securing a coveted Champions League spot for next season. Meanwhile, Fulham’s Wilson has been a standout performer, attracting the attention of top clubs in both England and Europe.
As Villa’s Champions League aspirations continue to gain momentum, the club are planning to bolster their squad ahead of a hectic campaign. Wilson, who has earned rave reviews this season, scoring ten goals and registering six assists in 33 Premier League appearances, is understood to be at the top of Villa’s shopping list. The 29-year-old’s contract at Craven Cottage expires this summer, which means Fulham’s efforts to secure him with a lucrative new deal may not be enough to keep him in West London.
With Villa looking to add depth and quality, Wilson would offer both. His experience in the Premier League and his ability to perform under pressure could be invaluable to Unai Emery’s side. Villa’s pursuit of him makes sense, particularly as they aim to strengthen their squad to compete on multiple fronts next season. Alongside the likes of Emi Buendia, Morgan Rogers, and Jadon Sancho, Wilson’s addition would certainly bolster Villa’s attacking options.

The primary draw for Wilson, however, may be Villa’s potential to offer Champions League football, a factor that could play a decisive role in his final decision. While Fulham are reportedly offering a high-paying contract to keep him, Wilson may favour a move to a club with greater ambitions. Aston Villa are increasingly viewed as the frontrunners, given their current standing and the allure of top-tier European competition.
Wilson’s possible departure from Fulham and his potential move to Villa looks increasingly likely, with both clubs standing to benefit from the deal. Wilson’s elevated level of play this season, coupled with Villa’s need for an additional attacking threat, creates a mutually beneficial scenario. The Villans would acquire a proven performer capable of making an impact in the Premier League and beyond, while Wilson could take his career to the next level in the Champions League. This seems set to be a great deal for all involved.
As a supporter of Aston Villa, the news that the club are pursuing Harry Wilson is exciting. Wilson’s form this season has been exceptional, and his ability to perform in big games would make him a fantastic addition to Villa’s attacking options. Given Villa’s current trajectory and the Champions League spot on offer, it’s hard to see why he would turn down the move. Fulham, although a solid club, cannot offer him the same level of ambition and exposure that Villa can provide. With the squad strengthening and Villa’s growing stature, Wilson could be a key player in their pursuit of success in Europe.
However, there’s still some cautious optimism among fans. While Villa’s interest is genuine, no final decision has been made, and until Wilson commits, the anxiety remains. It would be a significant signing that would further cement Villa’s position as a club on the rise, but as always in football, the final outcome remains uncertain.
