Sky Sports expert’s verdict on Newcastle United – A struggle to disagree with any of this | OneFootball

The Sky Sports column ‘Jones Knows’ has given some interesting analysis and commentary on what is currently the position at Newcastle United.

The column makes predictions on what will happen at certain Premier League matches and also debates other matters/issues at clubs as well.

However, unlike the usual ex-pro predictions, that are usually simply based on how ‘big’ a club is and whether or not they won the previous game, this one has proper analysis and insight, not lazy assumptions.

The Sky Sports ‘Jones Knows’ column looks at the matches from a betting perspective and has been concentrating on this Newcastle United game at home to Brentford.

Lewis Jones (who is the Sky Sports expert behind the ‘Jones Knows’ column) has highlighted some major underlying factors that could / should have a big bearing on this Newcastle v Brentford game.

“The likelihood of shots increases substantially when a full-back plays on the wrong side, meaning they are liable to cut in towards goal onto their stronger foot rather than going down the outside which in turn takes them away from goal.

“And I think there could be a developing angle to exploit here with Tino Livramento from left-back for Newcastle who has switched there since Lewis Hall was ruled out for the season.

“Livramento is going to get chances to shoot against Brentford, who defend in numbers and don’t mind soaking up lots of shots.

“Only Southampton have faced more shots this season than Brentford and they’ve conceded the most shots from outside the box – 6.1 per game in the Premier League.

Difficult to disagree with any of that pre-Brentford overview.

We now just need the conclusions he has come to, his prediction(s), to become reality…possibly including Tino Livramento amongst those pulverising the Brentford goal with shots (and goals…?).

Tino put in that brilliant cross for Murphy to head down to Isak for the winner at Wembley, who knows tonight?

So long as he keeps Bryan Mbeumo quiet, that will do me for starters.
