Slot says Alisson could return for Liverpool as Mamardashvili is ruled out for weeks | OneFootball

Arne Slot says there is a possibility that Alisson could return for Saturday’s clash with Crystal Palace.

The goalkeeper has not played since last month but is closing in on a return to action.

It would come at a welcome time for Liverpool, with back-up Giorgi Mamardashvili set to miss the next few weeks with the injury he suffered against Everton.

“No Giorgi [Mamardashvili] will definitely not be available tomorrow and not for the upcoming weeks,” the Liverpool boss said.

“Ali [Alisson] is close to returning to play. Let’s see if tomorrow comes too early.

“That leaves Freddie [Woodman] as an option who is definitely fit.”

Defender Joe Gomez is also available after his injury, Slot says, while Wataru Endo could be back before the end of the season.

“Joe is back in the squad, so that is really positive,” he said.

“Endo is starting to go out, not with the team, but he is starting to do exercises outside with the rehab team.

“He will not be available next week for Manchester United or the week after. We are hoping for him to be back at the end of the season.”
