Slot's Dilemma: Should Liverpool Finally Cut Salah's Minutes Amid Declining Form?
Liverpool’s 1st Premier League loss this season has reignited debate over Mohamed Salah’s form after the Reds fell 2 - 1 to Crystal Palace on Saturday at Selhurst Park.
Manager Arne Slot recently admitted he sometimes considers reducing Salah’s minutes but always ends up relying on him.
The Egyptian scored late penalty against Burnley, yet his overall performances continue to spark doubts.
According to Daily Mail, Salah’s display's now "growing worry" for Liverpool ahead of decisive run (starting with Chelsea next weekend, then Manchester United after the international break).
One of the paper's columnists noted Salah's struggled to adapt to new teammates, insisting:
"He simply hasn’t been good enough since the final stretch of last season"
The report questioned Salah’s impact in major clashes recalling quiet displays in last season’s Carabao cup final against Newcastle and the Champions League ties with Paris Saint Germain.
Since March, Salah's netted only 5 goal including the penalty against Burnley.
With the Africa cup of Nations starting in December, Salah’s form could become even more critical.
Slot will need the Egyptian firing before his departure to represent Egypt in the continental showpiece.
