Sorriso reports to Palmeiras first team after Baniyas move stalls

Sorriso, one of Palmeiras’ under-20 standouts in the Copinha, came close to joining FC Baniyas of the United Arab Emirates, but talks stalled late on.
According to Nosso Palestra, the academy forward reported to the first-team group on Monday 9. He will be assessed by Abel Ferreira’s staff, though the indication is he may not remain and could be moved on.
With major transfer windows closed, Palmeiras and the player’s representatives are working on offers from Brazilian clubs. A resolution on his exit is expected by the end of the week.
Sorriso joined Palmeiras in 2024 after impressing at the tournament with Atlético Guaratinguerá. He signed after the competition ended.
He adapted quickly, making 44 appearances in 2024 and 45 in 2025. His most prolific season came in 2025 with 11 goals, compared to 10 in 2024.
