Manchester United has had a continued focus on acquiring some of the best young players on the planet since INEOS took over, and that focus has only intensified since the capture of Christopher Vivell.

Vivell has brilliant connections within the Red Bull Group, stemming from his time with both RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg, which helped Manchester United during their purchase of Benjamin Sesko earlier this summer.

The Reds have now set their eyes on a new target from the Red Bull Group, and his name is Kerim Alajbegović. The left-winger, who signed for the Austrian side from Bayer Leverkusen’s U19 last year, has been in fine form this season already. Alajbegović’s season has been all the more impressive given it is his first season in senior football.

In all competitions this season for Salzburg, the German-born Bosnian native has amassed six goals and one assist. He has also won four caps for his nation so far, winning his first cap for the country at just 17 years and 2 days old, making him the youngest player to ever play for the Bosnian national team.

Manchester United have been linked to the player in recent days, and sources close to us at AttackingFootball can confirm the interest is concrete, and there are definitely chances the player could end up as a United player. As of now, there are positive signs that the transfer could happen, but as always in football, nothing is guaranteed.

The news comes after United’s interest in Lille youngster Ayyoub Bouaddi was also confirmed by AttackingFootball yesterday. United have a positive relationship with Lille after the signing of Leny Yoro last season, and it could work in their favour again if they decide to go big for Bouaddi.

It would add to a new string of youth signings the club has made in recent years. Chido Obi from Arsenal, Harley Emsden-James from Southampton, Sekou Kone, Cristian Orozco and Diego Leon. The club are adamant on focusing on young, talented players who could flourish and contribute to the club in the future, and the presence of Vivell with his links in the football world has proved extremely helpful in the pursuit of that.

For now, the interest in concrete in Alajbegović, and it will be interesting to see if the Reds make a move in January, or whether they allow the Bosnian to keep on impressing in the Austrian league for Salzburg until the summer.
