South Africa finally left for Mexico on Monday for the World Cup, their trip pushed back by 24 hours due to visa issues affecting staff.
Safa, the South African Football Association, said the delay cost the team a useful day but that the matter had been resolved and the programme remained on track.
Sunday's planned departure was postponed at the last minute because four members of the delegation had not received visas in time.
The episode sparked strong criticism, including from the government, with sports minister Gayton McKenzie demanding explanations on X and promising action against those responsible.
South Africa are in Group A and open against Mexico on 11 June, then face Czechia and South Korea during the tournament, which runs from 11 June to 19 July.
