South Shields have named Hummel as their official kit partner for the 2026/27 season, marking a fresh phase following the recent ORY Investment deal.
The club said in a statement that Hummel will provide bespoke match kits, training wear, travel apparel and supporter merchandise, with new designs to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
Chairman Geoff Thompson, new manager Mike Williamson and members of the new-look ownership group have travelled to the Far East to meet potential sponsors and partners and to visit the Chinese FA and local academies.
Preparations for the campaign are under way after Williamson, a former Newcastle United defender, replaced Ian Watson, who left for League Two side Rochdale last week. Several pre-season friendlies have been announced.
Shields wore Umbro last season during their unsuccessful push for promotion to the National League.
The tie-up further strengthens Hummel’s presence in the North East after a multi-year extension with Sunderland. The brand returned to the Black Cats in summer 2024 and has reported record replica shirt sales as Regis Le Bris’ side secured promotion to the Premier League, then finished seventh on their top-flight return to reach the Europa League.
