Southampton will be active in the January transfer window. In fact, they might hand another chance to a former Man City midfielder.

Southampton have not covered themselves in glory this season. The Saints are in an awful position, stark bottom of the Premier League standings. It was an embarrassing defeat against Liverpool at the weekend, more so because it could've been avoided through following the basics of defending.

Still, Southampton can only look ahead. While they are bottom of the table, it is tight at the bottom. Therefore, it only takes a few good results and a few points on the board to see the Saints in a better position.

However, they cannot go on the way they are. Changes might be necessary, to say the least.

According to a report from Luke Phelps of Sheffield Wednesday News, Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl is fearful that Southampton might recall Shea Charles in the January transfer window.

As it stands, Phelps has claimed Southampton are not planning to bring Charles back. However, this is a decision which stands at this point in time - It won't reassure Rohl, who remains fearful.

Shea Charles has become an incredibly important player to Wednesday. They are 15th in the Championship table, a respectable position for Rohl's side.

Shea Charles was signed by Southampton from Man City in 2023. He has already made 32 league appearances for the Saints, however, some fans would argue that he should be given more of a chance.
