The Saints and Tigers are set to be involved in their first play-off finals for two and 10 years, when they defeated Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday respectively, both by scorelines of one goal to nil.

The play-offs, naturally, provide two weeks of drama and chaos after the conclusion of the 46-game regular season, and that has proven to be the case both on and off the pitch this term.

Sergej Jakirovic's men were the first of the two outfits to seal their passage to Wembley after defeating Millwall at The Den on Monday night, with Mohamed Belloumi and Joe Gelhardt scoring in the second period of the second leg after a goalless first clash at the MKM Stadium.

Tonda Eckert's side, meanwhile, have already been to Wembley once this season for the FA Cup semi-final versus Manchester City on April 25th, and on the pitch, came from behind to defeat Middlesbrough 2-1 in their semi-final second leg at St Mary's, with Ross Stewart and Shea Charles on the scoresheet.

However, that only tells a snippet of the story, with the ongoing spygate debacle seeing the South Coast side initially charged by the EFL, and now it has been confirmed that an independent disciplinary commission will review the matter on, or before Tuesday, May 19th.

The EFL released a statement on Thursday that confirmed, as things stand, Hull and Southampton will contest football's 'richest game', and that a 4:30 kick-off has been selected, albeit this is still subject to a potential change.

Despite such uncertainties, both City and Saints have now released ticketing information to their supporters.

After thousands of supporters were left in the lurch midweek, even after travel warnings for Hull supporters were issued, ticketing information was released by both clubs at 8PM on Thursday evening.

Both sets of supporters have been allocated a split of 35,984 tickets, meaning that if both are fully sold out, 71,968 supporter tickets will make up over three quarters of Wembley's exact 90,000 capacity.

Hull are putting members in an exclusive first-served bracket running from 8AM on Friday, May 15th to 7AM on Sunday, May 17th, which will include two tickets per membership and a maximum of six tickets per basket.

Supporters who have officially purchased tickets throughout the season are then available to buy theirs between 8AM on Sunday, May 17th and 7AM on Monday, May 18th, before they COULD go on sale to those who acquired tickets in the 2024/25 campaign.

As for Saints, their first batch of tickets go on sale at 9:30AM on Friday, May 15h for those who have attended 10 or more away matches and have season tickets at St Mary's, before moving down to those who have attended three or more, or more than one away match respectively, which includes their recent Wembley visit.

Those limitations are in place until Monday when, subject to availability, remaining season ticket holders will be able to purchase tickets, before remaining paid members and supporters who have purchased at least one men's first team match without a membership will have to wait until Tuesday, May 19th, to potentially secure a ticket.

Again, six tickets per transaction are accepted, with one qualifying per supporter member.

The most expensive adult ticket comes in at £105 for a category one seat, while the cheapest adult ticket in category five is £37.

Hull City and Southampton will be well-supported at the national stadium

Given these ticket details, both sides are expected to be well-supported in North London.

Saints have also been given a larger allocation than when they took on the Citizens in the FA Cup semi-final, which was attended by 70,053 spectators.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are involved in their fifth Wembley spectacle in the space of 18 years, having been a part of the play-off final's largest attendance at the new stadium for the first of those in club history against Bristol City, with the game being played before a crowd of 86,703.

Given league positions and form in recent weeks and months, Southampton are expected to enter the game as favourites, although this will not faze Hull and Jakirovic, as they were the only team to complete a league double over the Hampshire outfit, winning 3-1 and 2-1 at the MKM Stadium and St Mary's respectively.
