According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Luis de la Fuente has named a 27-man Spain squad for Serbia on 27 March and Egypt on 31 March, selecting four goalkeepers and no Villarreal players.

Unai Simón, David Raya and Álex Remiro are joined by Joan Garcia of FC Barcelona in the final squad before the World Cup. The group meets on Monday at Las Rozas, facing Serbia at La Cerámica then Egypt at the RCDE Stadium.

First-time call-ups include centre-back Cristhian Mosquera and wingers Ander Barrenetxea and Víctor Muñoz, while Carlos Soler returns.

Dani Carvajal remains out amid limited minutes after two serious injuries. Álvaro Morata is omitted, without a club start since November, and now looks almost out of the World Cup picture. Dani Vivian, Aleix García and Robin Le Normand also miss out.

Injuries rule out Fabián Ruiz, Mikel Merino and Nico Williams. Pablo Barrios is not yet fit, Samu Aghehowa continues his recovery from a cruciate rupture, and Marc Pubill is omitted due to ongoing issues.

The next squad will be for the World Cup. It is more than possible that De la Fuente will begin with over 26 then make cuts, particularly if several are involved in the Champions League final on 31 May. Warm-ups are slated for Iraq on 4 June in Riazor and Peru on 8 June in Puebla, Mexico.
