Leeds United have signed Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton after trying to land the Argentine in the summer window.
Sporting director Jason Ayto said on the club website that Buonanotte wants to play and showed last season the Premier League impact he can have. He called it a good move for all parties and said Brighton look forward to his development at Leeds and to welcoming him back in the summer. He suggested that, if he plays, the 21-year-old would be able to improve Daniel Farke’s side.
Brighton recalled him from his loan with Chelsea after only seven appearances in the first half of the season. Three of those came in the Champions League and he did not get the minutes the club had hoped for.
He has now been reallocated to Leeds, with the Seagulls hopeful he can build on his Premier League experience. The Rosario Central academy graduate moved to The Amex in 2023.
Buonanotte made 35 appearances for Leicester last season, operating as a No. 10 and on the right, scoring six and adding three assists. He has nine goals and four assists in 72 league matches.
