Trincao has enjoyed a resurgence since his return to Portugal, where he has established himself as a key attacking figure for Sporting.
The ‘incredible‘ 26-year-old forward delivered an impressive campaign last season, recording 11 goals and 15 assists in 50 matches across all competitions.
The left-footed attacker has attracted significant interest throughout Europe, and his previous loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers gives him valuable experience in English football.
However, completing a deal will require Tottenham to move swiftly due to fierce market competition
Manchester City have been linked with him. Clubs in the Saudi Pro League are also in the mix.
Financial heavyweights Al-Ahli are in advanced negotiations to sign Trincao as a marquee replacement for Riyad Mahrez, having tabled a lucrative offer worth around €50 million.
Sporting are protected by Trincao’s long-term contract, which runs until June 2030 and includes a €60 million release clause.
While the Lisbon club are tempted by Al-Ahli’s offer, Tottenham will hope the appeal of Premier League football strengthens their position if they formalise their interest.
Now back from the World Cup following Portugal’s last-16 exit to Spain, Trincao’s future is expected to be resolved in the coming days.
