As always, there was plenty of action for the Tottenham Hotspur loanees that are currently playing in the Championship. Let’s take a look at how they got on.

How things went for Tottenham Hotspur loanees in the EFL Championship

To begin, on Friday night – Yang Min-hyeok made his first start for Queens Park Rangers, as they hosted Derby County in front of the Sky Sports cameras. He was deployed on the right hand side.

In the first half, QPR would score two unanswered goals as they took a healthy lead into the half time interval. Twelve minutes after the break, a superb first touch from Min-hyeok took the ball past his man, before running into the box, and cutting the ball back for Ilias Chair, who fired home to make it 3-0, and give Min-hyeok an assist.

Around six minutes or so later, the South Korean was substituted, but a productive first start nevertheless, with an assist and an eventual 4-0 win. This victory leaves QPR 12th in the Championship, with 44 points from their 33 games to date.

Meanwhile, Will Lankshear was also handed his first start of his second tier loan spell, as he lead the line for West Bromwich Albion for their trip to Millwall, where he was up against former Spurs defender Japhet Tanganga.

After 19 minutes, West Brom went behind – though an own goal put them on level terms just seven minutes later. Those two goals would be the only two of the game. Lankshear was subbed after 57 minutes. They remain in the play off positions, just, with 48 points from their 33 games.

Finally, Ashley Phillips was named in the starting XI as Stoke City hosted Swansea City. The visitors took the lead after 61 minutes, though Stoke equalised just three minutes later. Nine minutes after that, they took the lead for the first time in the game.

Then, in stoppage time, Phillips’ side scored a third goal to make sure of all three points, securing an absolutely crucial win. As for the youngster himself, he more than played his part – making thirteen clearances, and winning 5/6 aerial duels.

This victory leaves Stoke in 19th place in the Championship, with 35 points from their 32 games so far.

Next up for QPR is a trip to Portsmouth. For West Brom, it is a home game against Oxford United. Finally, for Stoke City – a trip to Norwich City. All games are next Saturday, with 15:00 GMT kick offs.
