Tyler Morton orchestrated midfield control and fashioned the game's clearest second half opening as Lyon drew 0-0 at Angers. His composure and ball-winning steadied the visitors throughout.
In the 48th minute, Morton slipped a neat pass to the edge of the box for a driven effort that Hervé Koffi gathered.
From there he kept Angers pinned with quick switches and forward angles, then stepped onto a loose ball from distance that was blocked (83.).
Morton completed 72 of 80 passes, produced 19 successful final third deliveries and made 12 recoveries, underlining why Les Gones controlled the midfield rhythm.
Operating as the deeper half of Lyon's 4-2-3-1, he consistently found pockets in front of Angers' back five, recycled possession efficiently and kept his side in advanced territory.
Les Gones host Lorient next. Angers visit Rennes.
