The Hoops substitute arrived unmarked to turn in James Forrest's low cut-back from the right (67.).
Nygren's introduction gave the Hoops a focal point in the box, offering sharp runs and linking play against the Dons' centre-backs.
He finished with one attempt and one on target, converting the only shot he took. He also completed 15 of 18 passes, including nine successful final third passes from 22 touches.
Forrest's arrival on the flank created the angle for the decisive cut-back, and the Bhoys forward's movement inside the area made it count.
The Bhoys rise from third to second in the Premiership and visit Rangers in the Scottish Cup next. The Dons go to Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Cup.
