Yuki Ohashi opened the scoring in the 12th minute and set Blackburn Rovers on their way to a 3-1 win at Sheffield United. The forward's brace defined the contest.
Ohashi timed his run to meet Ryoya Morishita's through ball and finished low from the centre (12.). The Japan international then saw a close-range header saved as he kept asking questions of the Blades' back line (32.). Moments later he glanced in a cross from Ryan Alebiosu to cap a ruthless first half (45.).
After the restart he continued to stretch the defence with constant movement across the line, forcing mistakes and buying Blackburn territory. His threat came from simple, direct runs into the box rather than shots from distance.
He finished with four attempts, three on target, and scored twice. He also made three tackles, winning two, and regained possession in the attacking third once, underlining a busy all-round display that helped Blackburn protect their platform.
Because he repeatedly attacked the space behind the Blades' centre-backs, even being caught offside three times, his runs pinned defenders back and released team-mates to progress play down the flanks.
Blackburn Rovers rise from 21st to 19th in the Championship and host Leicester City next. The Blades slip to 14th and welcome Preston North End next.
