Stiven Mendoza struck in the ninth minute, a neat right-footed finish that gave Athletico Paranaense a 1-0 win at Internacional.
Spinning into space in the centre of the box, the Colombian forward swept in from close range after CAP broke the lines. The early breakthrough let Inter chase, while he stayed high to threaten the counter.
He then drove a rapid transition to create another clear opening (13.). Minutes later he delivered from the right to force another shot from the edge (20.). His work out of possession also bit, pinching the ball and turning pressure into yards upfield.
The numbers underline his grip on the game: one goal from his only attempt, two key passes and one big chance created, plus four possessions won, two tackles and a successful dribble. After setting the tone, he made way to protect the lead (65.).
Because Furacão sat compact and sprang forward quickly, Mendoza repeatedly found room on turnovers and kept Colorado's back line uneasy. His early precision and constant outlet running shaped the contest from start to finish.
Furacão host Foz Iguaçu in the Paranaense next. Inter visit Flamengo in the league.
