Ellis Reco Simms headed home in the 19th minute to spark Coventry City's 4-0 win at Watford. The forward then completed a ruthless hat-trick that put the game beyond reach.
He timed his run to glance Jake Bidwell's cross into the bottom left (19.). The finish arrived after sustained pressure, with his movement separating him from the centre-backs.
Simms doubled the lead with a right-footed strike from outside the area into the top left after Josh Eccles fed him from midfield (43.). The shot was clean and early, leaving the goalkeeper little chance.
After the restart he completed his treble, sweeping in from close range from Victor Torp's corner (58.). He finished with three attempts, all on target, and two touches in the box, a model of economy and penalty box presence.
The variety told: a header, a long-range strike and a poacher's finish. That blend kept the Hornets' defence off balance and ensured Coventry City controlled the decisive phases.
Coventry City finish top of the Championship on 95 points, while the Hornets end 16th.
