Stefan de Vrij ‘to sign’ for Panathinaikos after Benfica link | OneFootball

Stefan de Vrij, previously linked to Benfica, is very close to a free transfer to Panathinaikos, a move that would end his eight-season spell with Inter Milan.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Greek club are waiting for the defender’s green light to complete the deal.

Despite recent speculation, there was nothing on the table between Benfica and the 34-year-old centre-back.

If finalised, the Netherlands international would join the fourth senior club of his career after Feyenoord, Lazio and Inter. In Milan he won 10 trophies, including 3 Serie A titles and 3 Coppa Italia crowns.

This season he made 17 appearances for Inter, 11 in Serie A, 3 in the Champions League, 2 in the Coppa Italia and 1 in the Italian Super Cup, totalling 1,196 minutes without a goal. He is valued at 3 million euros.
