Legendary Manchester United defender Steve Bruce has lauded Senne Lammens following his heroic performance in Monday’s 1-0 victory over Everton.

Lammens dazzles

Lammens produced a superb performance as United made it six games unbeaten at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Benjamin Sesko scored the only goal of the evening but Lammens was equally impactful, making a string of fine saves to ensure the Red Devils got over the line.

With time running out, the Toffees went route one from set pieces, using every trick in the book to unsettle Lammens and spark a goalmouth scramble. The Belgian held firm, attacking every delivery and making sure he was first to the ball, whether smothering or clearing.

After the final whistle, Lammens called out Everton’s dark arts. Kobbie Mainoo echoed his sentiments in a cheeky social media post.

David Moyes acknowledged that Lammens was the best player on the pitch, while iconic United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar was also full of praise for him.

Bruce has become the latest figure to wax lyrical about Lammens’ contributions in Merseyside.

Bruce lauds Lammens

Speaking on talkSPORT [as quoted by Manchester World], Bruce said, “Well, he looks like a really, really good goalkeeper, for somebody who only just started learning his trade in Belgium.”

“He looks like a real class act, no matter what Everton threw at him, with a high ball and it was like a scrum in there at the finish, it was more like a game of rugby, the way they were competing with it.”

“He stood up and he got a fist to it, caught it, and he was immaculate, the two or three shots down by his right-hand side, didn’t spill them.”

“He looks a real, real good goalkeeper, I’m delighted for him.”

Lammens and United return to action on Sunday when they host Crystal Palace.
