Storms disrupt Spain and Argentina training on eve of World Cup final | OneFootball

Thunderstorms in the region disrupted Spain and Argentina's training on Saturday, the day before their World Cup final scheduled for Sunday at 21:00.

According to L'Équipe, both teams had final morning sessions planned at their respective facilities in New Jersey, but the weather interrupted them.

Safety protocols in the United States are strict, outdoor work can start only 30 minutes after the last lightning is seen within 8 miles, 13 kilometres. With forecasts pessimistic, the delay could last several hours.

Spain switched to indoor training. Lionel Messi and his team-mates worked indoors first, then moved outside in the middle of the day at the Columbia Park Training Facility.

Authorities also issued a flood alert on Saturday morning for parts of New York and New Jersey because of heavy rain expected during the day.
