The Frankfurt left-back won 3-0 with his country’s U21 team against Ukraine, making it two wins from two games on their visit to Slovenia.
Keita Kosugi is finally on his summer holiday now. The Eintracht Frankfurt left-back, who joined from Djurgårdens IF at the start of the year, has been on a so-called European tour with the Japan U21 national team over the past week. As well as five training sessions, the trip featured two friendly matches in Gorisnica, Slovenia.
Following the 1-0 win over Uzbekistan U23s last Friday, the tour came to a successful conclusion on Monday as Kosugi and Co also defeated their peers from Ukraine. Three shots, three goals and 3-0 to the talents from the Land of the Rising Sun. And Kosugi was in the thick of it, starting the match and playing until the 81st minute, by which time his side were already well on their way after early goals from Seo Nwadike Uchebrian and Rei Umeki inside the first 10 minutes and then a second strike from Nwadike Uchebrian in the 61st minute.
Kosugi has gained not only valuable international experience but also game time. The 20-year-old played 90 minutes in Eintracht’s last friendly at Sandhausen following the end of the 2025/26 season.
