Crystal Palace v Newcastle - Sarr tempts, but Gordon backed

Palace are incrementally improving as evidenced by their overwhelming of Fiorentina on Thursday evening. As ever, Adam Wharton was pivotal. The 22-year-old has created 11 big chances this season, the fourth most in the Premier League.

Newcastle will be significantly buoyed to have Bruno Guimaraes back, his absence almost directly coinciding with a spate of losses.

It's been a long wait for the Magpies to try and atone for a pasting in Barcelona and a North-East derby defeat.

Gordon's grin

A word on Ismaila Sarr who racked up an astonishing 13 shots vs AEK Larcana three weeks ago. Granted, the Cypriots were not the strongest opposition, and yes, five of his attempts came in extra-time, but that's impressive, nonetheless.

The Senegalese forward accrued a further four attempts at the expense of I Viola midweek, converting the fourth.

It's a Newcastle player though who is fancied most in the shots market, Anthony Gordon taking on three apiece in his last three league outings, burying a third of them.

What intrigues about the England winger is that he has let fly every 39.3 minutes at St James Park in 2025/26, but every 34.1 minutes on his travels.

Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa - Watkins to fire early

Forest are a better proposition under Vitor Pereira but crucially Villa - Boubacar Kamara aside - have their first-choice midfield back. That could prove to be the difference in this all-Midlands affair.

Even though nine of their last 12 meetings have ended with both teams scoring Villa to win to nil appeals at 7/2 Forest have scored just twice in their last seven at the City Ground since Christmas.

Ole, Ole, Ollie

Elliot Anderson will be charged with dealing with Villa's revived engine-room and no player has more foul involvements to their name in the Premier League this season. No-one else comes close.

When these sides last met in early January, the England star racked up four all told, and he is 6/4 to go one better this time.

Ollie Watkins scored that day. Indeed he has notched against Forest in three of the last four seasons and with the striker in rich goal-scoring form at present he has to get the nod.

Only two players have taken on more first-half shots than the Villa forward this term and he is tipped to trouble the hosts again this weekend.

Sunderland v Tottenham - Richarlison carded

All eyes will be on the Spurs dugout this Sunday as they unveil their third coach of a miserable campaign, the familiar figure of Roberto De Zerbi.

With a full week of working with his new players we can surely expect greater intensity from Tottenham, to what we've witnessed in recent weeks, even if a dramatic transformation is unrealistic. That puts their back-line and midfielders in the frame for fouls committed.

The Black Cats have enjoyed some tremendous results beyond the North-East but have lost each of their last three at home. Converting their chances is becoming an issue, for all of their points building. Regis Le Bris' men have scored just 0.8 per 90 in 2026.

Feisty visitors

Joao Palhinha is expected to return to the midfield fold and it's pertinent that he has made more successful tackles than any other top-flight player this term. 4.9 per 90 is a notable tally.

That may translate to fouls committed given the circumstances here and Palhinha is 13/8 to err two or more times at the Stadium of Light.

Dominic Solanke meanwhile is one of the very few Spurs players who can look themselves in the mirror these past few months, notching six times since late January. That equates to a goal every 142 minutes.

Solanke is 9/4 to score anytime.

If the visitors do have fire in their bellies though how can we ignore the possibility of Richarlison getting carded? The hot-headed Brazilian has picked up nine bookings this season. Seven have been brandished outside of North London.

Chelsea v Man City - 6/1 Bet Builder

A draw is no good for either side at the Bridge. City have to win to maintain their title hopes while only maximum points realistically keeps Chelsea in the top-four chase.

The hosts haven't beaten City since the 2021 Champions League final and despite putting seven past Port Vale last week they are in decidedly ropey form. Keeping Enzo Fernandez out of proceedings meanwhile is the very definition of cutting your nose off to spite your face.

Pep Guardiola's men tempt at [11/10]

Cherki and Haaland tipped to shine

Guess who was Chelsea's star man when these sides met at the Etihad? You got it, Fernandez. Cole Palmer was ineffective - as he often is against his former club - while Pedro Neto had a 'mare. Joao Pedro was non-existent.

That's by-the-by, however, because with the visitors backed to prevail, this is an all-City treble, starting with a schemer who has become key to Guardiola's recently invigorated collective. Rayan Cherki boasts an assist every 163 minutes in the league this term and 13 goal involvements in 19 starts across all competitions. Ignore the background noise about his showboating. The lad has substance.

So too obviously has Erling Haaland and though it can sometimes be hard to find value when backing the goal-machine early shots on target could be a way in. The Norwegian has fired five first-half SOT in his last three outings while in this corresponding fixture he forced a save from Jorgensen and hit the post, all before the break.

Lastly, Bernardo Silva is always worth backing for a foul or four in the big, feisty encounters. The midfielder erred five times vs Chelsea back in January and even with a two-match suspension hanging over his head he won't compromise one bit here.
