Sunderland and Newcastle United are among the clubs linked with West Ham United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka after the Hammers’ relegation. According to TeamTalk, both North East sides have shown interest in a potential cut-price deal.
Regis Le Bris is assessing options before a pivotal window, with Sunderland seeking depth for a Europa League campaign, only the second European venture in their history. Quality, rather than quantity, sits at the top of the hierarchy’s priorities.
The former Manchester United defender is an international team-mate of Noah Sadiki, and both have been named in DR Congo’s squad for this summer’s World Cup in North America.
Wan-Bissaka will head to the tournament with uncertainty over his West Ham future as the club deal with the financial impact of relegation. Several senior players have been linked with exits, and the hierarchy are said to be keen to move on big earners.
The report adds that Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have signalled intent to pursue a deal worth around £10m. Fulham are also thought to be keen on the 28-year-old, while Sunderland’s interest has been portrayed as underlining their ambition after returning to the top flight.
