Régis Le Bris says Romaine Mundle and Jocelin Ta Bi are likely to miss the rest of the season, ahead of Sunday’s game against Spurs.
According to Sunderland Echo, both players have had surgery, Mundle on a hamstring and Ta Bi on an ankle. Le Bris does not expect them back in training until the very end, so they are unlikely to be risked and will instead focus on being ready for pre-season.
The head coach remains hopeful Bertrand Traoré could feature before the campaign finishes, with the winger potentially available a little earlier.
After a three-week break from fixtures, Sunderland’s overall injury picture has improved, with Robin Roefs ready to return.
Dan Ballard and Nilson Angulo remain out but are very close to a comeback, while Reinildo, Enzo Le Fée and Nordi Mukiele are in contention to return to the starting XI.
