Sunderland fans turned out in numbers at the Stadium of Light as the Black Cats hosted Manchester United in a major Premier League occasion on Wearside.
According to Sunderland Echo, Régis Le Bris' side sought a response after recent frustration and delivered a strong display against one of the division's leading teams, with the hosts creating the better chances.

The atmosphere built from the opening stages as Sunderland pressed aggressively and pushed Manchester United back.
Former loanee Amad Diallo was warmly received, with home supporters applauding and a banner raised in the Roker End.
A photographer captured the colour, noise and emotion in the stands as supporters again played their part at the Stadium of Light.
