In a recent report, Ontheminute.com stated that Sunderland have identified Bodo/Glimt winger Jens Petter Hauge as a target for this transfer window. It has been mentioned that the Black Cats are eyeing a move to bring the Norwegian wide player to the Stadium of Light this off-season.

Hauge’s Decent Numbers In Norwegian Football

Hauge enjoyed a good run of form at the Norwegian club in the previous campaign when he put in a string of productive displays for them in the final third. The 26-year-old scored eight times and picked up nine assists in 30 matches for Bodo/Glimt last season across various competitions.

The Norwegian talent is currently among the most talented wide players in his homeland. Thus, it is no surprise that the Black Cats are hoping to sign him this off-season.

His current contract at the Norwegian club will expire at the end of 2028, which could make it tough for Sunderland to land him on the cheap later this year.

What Will Hauge Bring To Sunderland?

Hauge can engineer a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create some decent chances for his teammates on the offensive end of the field and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Norwegian sensation is also a consistent performer in the final third. Hauge is primarily a left-winger but can also fill in as a right-sided wide player or an attacking midfielder if required. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Black Cats manage to get a deal done for him this summer.

We can expect Hauge to bring more quality and depth to Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris’ attack. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at the Stadium of Light next season.
