Sunderland have been linked with a £30m winger, a bid for a Real Madrid prospect and £8m interest in Anthony Patterson as summer planning gathers pace.
Reports in Europe suggest the Black Cats are among the clubs pursuing Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa, and may be at the front of the queue. The 24-year-old Algeria international has 11 goals and six assists this season. Feyenoord value him at €30m to €35m, about £25.9m to £30.2m, with Premier League interest also noted.
Spanish outlet Fichajes claims Sunderland have submitted a bid of around €15m, roughly £12.9m, for Real Madrid midfielder Thiago Pitarch. The report says the youngster fits the club’s strategy of recruiting high-potential players. Caution is advised, the same outlet linked Sunderland with Endrick and Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez last winter, moves that were never realistic.
Coventry City could move for goalkeeper Patterson this summer, with Frank Lampard assessing options as Carl Rushworth is expected to return to Brighton after his loan. Reports suggest Coventry are weighing a loan or a permanent deal worth about £8m.
Patterson, a Sunderland academy graduate, is currently on loan at Millwall after limited chances following the arrival of Robin Roefs. With the window nearing, Sunderland face calls on both incomings and exits as they shape the squad.
