Sunderland have 13 players out on loan this season, producing a mixed set of returns. According to Sunderland Echo, the picture is mixed across the Black Cats’ loanees.
Simon Adingra has found form at Monaco, scoring three in seven Ligue 1 games, including a February brace in a 3-1 win over Nantes. If he sustains this, Monaco would surely trigger the £16m option.
Anthony Patterson moved to Millwall and, after two games as back-up, has started seven straight with three clean sheets. He is averaging a 70.8% save rate and one goal conceded per 90.
Dan Neil has rotated at Ipswich and helped trim the gap to Boro in second to two points with a game in hand. Jenson Seelt’s Wolfsburg spell brought a DFB-Pokal red, then a knee injury, and the side sit 17th.
Arthur Masuaku has just one Ligue 1 minute and nine in the cup for Lens after four Sunderland outings. Leo Hjelde has featured sparingly for Sheffield United, Timothee Pembele has seven games and two starts for Le Havre, and Alan Browne’s versatility has buoyed Middlesbrough.
Ajibola Alese logged four Championship minutes and a booking for Portsmouth before a thigh injury ruled him out until early April. Nazariy Rusyn has four in 19 for Arka Gdynia, Niall Huggins has 16 outings with a standout 4-0 against Doncaster, Luis Semedo has two in 16, and Zak Johnson is a 90-minute regular for second-placed York with one in 19 and has aided the National League’s second-best defence.
